Kaptan Singh administered oath as Haryana Governor

CHANDIGARH, JULY 27
Mr Kaptan Singh Solanki was administered the oath of office as the new Governor of Haryana by Acting Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Mr. Justice Ashutosh Mohunta at a simple but impressive ceremony held at Raj Bhavan here, today. The Governor took the oath in Hindi.
The new Governor personally met those who had come to attend the oath-taking ceremony, acknowledged and accepted their greetings, and expressed his gratitude to them.
The ceremony was attended by the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, his Cabinet colleagues, judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, senior officers of Haryana, Punjab and the
 Union Territory of Chandigarh, and prominent citizens of the city.
        On reaching Chandigarh, Mr Solanki, along with his wife Shrimati Rani Solanki, was given a warm reception by the Haryana Chief Minister, his cabinet colleagues, senior officers and staff of the
 Haryana Raj Bhawan.
Mr. Solanki was born in Garhpara village, in Bhind District of Madhya Pradesh on July 1, 1939. He is an MA, B.Ed and got his education from Vikram University, Ujjain; P.G.B.T. College, Ujjain,
 and Maharani Luxmibai College, Jiwaji University, Gwalior.
        He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in August, 2009 and re-elected in August, 2012.
The members of Mr Solanki’s family, including Mr. Rajesh Solanki, Prabal Solanki and Mr. Abhay Solanki, sons, Smt Rachana Solanki, Smt Amit Solanki and Smt Ruchi Solanki, daughters-in-law;
 Smt. Jyoti Chauhan, daughter; Mr Rohan Solanki and Ashvarya Vardhan Singh, grandsons;  Ms Runjahun Solanki, grand-daughter; Ms Neha Chauhan Natin; Mr Vimal Singh Bhadhauria, Samdhi, and Smt Veena Bhadhauria, Samdhan, and other relatives were also present at the  ceremony.
      Prominent among those who attended the ceremony included the Agriculture Minister, Mr. Pramvir Singh, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister, Prof. Virender Singh, the Chief Secretary, Mr. S.C.
 Chaudhary,  senior officers of the state government, vice-chancellors of the universities of Haryana, officers and staff of the Haryana Raj Bhavan and other departments.
Earlier in the morning, the outgoing Governor, Mr Jagannath Pahadia, was accorded a hearty send-off at the Haryana Raj Bhavan here.
