CHANDIGARH, JULY 15
In view of the ensuing Vidhan Sabha  elections, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has directed the  Haryana Government to transfer all officers connected directly with  elections if he/ she has completed three years in present posting, or  in home district, during the last four years, or would be completing  three years on or before October 31, 2014. The ECI has directed that  the Chief Secretary be apprised of the matter up to August 5.
Mr Shrikant Walgad, Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, gave  this information in a video conference with deputy commissioners and  returning officers of all districts, here today. Those appointed  sector officers will not be covered under these instructions.

assistant returning officers but also other district officers like  additional district magistrates, deputy collectors, sub-divisional  magistrates, tehsildars, block development officers or any other
officer proposed to be deployed for election work.
A special campaign would be run for making youth and women  aware of getting themselves registered and cast their vote so that  maximum numbers of people participate in the elections. Under this  campaign, meetings of all deputy commissioners of districts would be  organized with principals of educational institutes and various  activities like essay writing, painting competition and speech
competitions would be undertaken.
He said that the final voters’ list would be prepared by July 31, 2014 and all such people completing 18 years of age on  January 1, 2014 and who have not get themselves registered, could get  themselves registered.
