Better facilities planned for visitors at Surajkund Crafts Mela

CHANDIGARH, OCT 17
 With a view to attract more visitors to the International Surajkund Crafts Mela to be held in Faridabad from February 1 to 15, 2017, the Haryana Government has directed the officers of the Tourism Department to provide better facilities for visitors at the venue.
        This was informed by Principal Secretary Tourism, Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi, who made a spot inspection of Surajkund Mela Ground in Faridabad today.
        He said that as the Mela showcased the best of the art, culture, traditions and heritage of the country, it witnessed heavy footfall, with visitors arriving from across the globe to be a part of this extravaganza.  
Dr Likhi, also chaired a divisional-level review meeting of Tourism Department, where he directed the officers to increase operation profits of its tourist complexes. He also reviewed the situation of land banks and asked the officers to redress the complaints received on CM Window on priority basis. He also directed them to take follow up action on Chief Minister announcements.
FIVE OFFICERS PROMOTED: The Haryana Government has issued promotion orders of five officers and officials of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department with immediate effect.
        Deputy Director Dr Ved Parkash has been promoted to the post of Joint Director. Mrs Sukhwinder Kaur, Assistant Information and Public Relations Officer has been promoted to the post of Information and Public Relations Officer.
        Mrs Hemlata, Deputy Superintendent has been promoted to the post of Superintendent whereas Personal Assistant Mr Mohinder Pal has been promoted to the post of Private Secretary. Mr Om Parkash, Light Man has been promoted to the post of Assistant Cameraman.
