Gadkari inaugurates Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Express Way

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 5 
The 53-km  long Palwal-Manesar stretch of Kundli-Manesar-Palwal  (KMP) Express Way was opened today at Palwal by the Union Minister for Surface Transport and Highways Mr Nitin Gadkari, who and Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal announced several new projects for the State on this occasion.
          The total length of KMP E-Way is 135.6 kilometers. The stretch between Palwal and Manesar has been completed at a cost of Rs 457.81 crore in a record time of eleven months. Now the NH-2 (Delhi-Agra) is connected with NH-8 (Delhi- Jaipur), facilitating  vehicles to go easily from NH-2 to NH- 8 without entering into Delhi. This stretch has 4 toll points. Though the stretch has been opened for traffic from today onwards but, as of now, the toll was not being charged.
          Addressing the well attended public meeting organized on the occasion in Sector 2 of Palwal, the Union Minister Mr Gadkari conceded demands raised by previous speakers including Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal and Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar and Political Secretary of Chief Minister Deepak Mangla and made a number of announcements for improvement of road network in Haryana. Industries Minister Capt Abhimanyu and Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Rao Narbir Singh were also present.
          Mr Gadkari announced that the remaining part of KMP E-Way, connecting Manesar with Kundli would be constructed with Cement-Concrete and a communiqué in this regard would be sent to the Haryana Government  tomorrow. The CC construction will not need maintenance for next 50 years and the drive will also be smooth and hassle free. He hoped that like the Palwal-Manesar Stretch, the remaining part of KMP E-Way would also be constructed within the stipulated time.
          He said that the Easterly and Westerly Bye Pass around Delhi would not only bring down pollution levels of Delhi by at least 50 per cent besides decreasing the load of vehicular traffic, but also bring development in the region. Mr Gadkari also announced that work on Dwarka National Highway would soon be started. He announced elevated road on the part of NH-2 passing through Palwal City which will cover all the four intersections (chowks) within the city.  He said that an over bridge would be constructed across the Yamuna River on Hasanpur road. At the same time, Mr Gadkari announced construction of bye pass in Dabwali in district Sirsa for connecting Hissar-Fazilka road with Bhatinda-Ganganagar road.
          Mr Gadkari said that inland waterways would be developed because  the passenger and freight carriage through water ways is cheaper than the road and train modes. He announced that the first inland waterways project would be started in six months from village Palla in district Faridabad of Haryana to Wazirabad in Delhi. For this, water with about three meters height would be kept standing in a width of 45 meters in river Yamuna. He said that the Central Government has decided to invest Rs one Lakh Crore on establishing Inland Waterways.
          The Union Minister said that technology is changing and more innovations were being made in the country. He said that the Central Government plans to bring electric car to reduce pollution levels. He also announced to start work on  first priority project of 12.3 kilometer length of Pod Car project in Gurgaon by June 1 this year. It is learnt that this pod system will run from Delhi-Gurgaon border to Sohna Road in Gurgaon. If this project proves successful, people will be able to travel in air on circular roads and would cover large distances in comparatively less time. It will help in bringing down the number of accidents on roads considerably thereby reducing the pollution levels as well, Mr Gardkari added.
          Earlier, while presiding over the function, the Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal said that Haryana is continuously receiving support from Mr Gadkari and whatever we take demands  to him, he takes no time in approving the demands. He said that ever since Mr Gadkari took over the charge of Surface Transport Ministry, projects worth Rs 36000 crore have been sanctioned in Haryana and work on all these projects was going on. He thanked  Mr Gadkari for this and raised a  number of new demands before him including construction of elevated road in Palwal town and bye pass in Dabwali of Sirsa district which were approved by Mr Gadkari on the spot. Mr Manohar Lal said that the demand of making Hissar Airport as national airport will also be sent.
CM Haryana Announcements-
          Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal announced bonanza of incentives for Palwal district on the opening of Palwal-Manesar stretch of KMP E-Way at Palwal today.
          Mr Manohar Lal announced that a Multi Purpose Hall would be constructed for sports activities at a cost of Rs 23 crore, laying of storm water drainage system at a cost of Rs 4.25 crore, setting up of waste disposal center by Urban Local Bodies, Over bridge on River Yamuna at village Gurwadi at a cost of Rs two  crore, renovation of Dhingra Community Center in Jawahar  Lal Nagar costing Rs 2 crore, Road from Palwal to Rasulpur at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore.
          He announced   Rs 12 crore for 19 different roads, Rs 5.50 crore for Baghpur road, Renovation of Rest House at a cost of Rs 8 crore, Rs 3 crore for Library and Senior Citizen Home, Rs 12 crore for another 12 roads in district Palwal, Rs 5 crore for parking complex in Municipal Council, Rs 4.25 crore for making the phirnies pacca in villages and Rs 10 crore for taking up development works in Municipal area and Rs 10 Crore for rural areas of the district. The Chief Minister also announced setting up of a 66 KV power substation in Khadar area and shifting of High Tension electricity lines which were passing over houses in district Palwal besides announced that 100 safai karamcharies would be kept in the Municipal Committee. In addition, the the Chief Minister  announced Rs 5.50 crore for construction of Laboratory for upgradation of ITI. He said that construction of flyover at Delhi Chowk has been in principal approved by National Highway  Authority of India.
          Regarding the demand of making Badoli as Block Headquarters, the Chief Minister said that a committee has been constituted for this purpose in the entire state and it will depend on its recommendation. On the demand of opening a rural stadium, he announced that ten Vyayamshalas would be opened in each assembly constituency of the state this year where trainers and coaches would be deputed for training the youth in our traditional games and yoga. Referring to the demand of pond for performing ‘Chhat Pooja’ by Purvanchal people, the Chief Minister said that such a pond will be constructed by HUDA after identifying  proper space for it. He said that during last one-and-a-half year of the present BJP government, an amount of Rs 110 crore has been spent on various development works without demand from any quarter. He said that provision of bye pass for Palwal town would be made in the Development Plan- 2021.
Haryana Industries Minister Capt Abhimanyu- termed Mr Gadkari as ‘Adhunik yug ke Vishwakarma’
          Earlier, Haryana Industries Minister Capt Abhimanyu said that the construction of KMP E-Way was stalled for years and the present BJP government resumed work on it. Giving credit for this to Mr Gadkari, he called him as ‘adhunik yug ke Vishwakarma’ and said that the stalled works on all national highways have been resumed by Mr Gadkari. He said that KMP E-Way would usher in an economic revolution in the state. He lauded the role of officers and labourers who worked hard to complete this project in time and said that work on Palwal-Manesar stretch has been completed in 11 months’ time which remained stalled for years during the previous Congress regime.
Union Minister Mr Krishan Pal Gurjar-
          Union Minister of state for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishan Pal Gurjar termed the BJP Government as ‘Gatisheel Sarkar’ and said that work on the KMP E-Way remained stalled for 7 years which escalated the cost three times of the original cost. He questioned that who is responsible for this delay and said that Congress remained in power both in Haryana and in the Center for 10 years.
Haryana PWD (B&R) Minister Rao Narbir Singh –
          Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that BJP government at the Center has given nine new National Highways to Haryana. He hoped that in future also Mr Gadkari would keep on approving more road projects for Haryana because roads are gateway of progress. Political Secretary of Chief Minister, Mr  Deepak Mangla put forth the demands of district Palwal and welcomed the guests. Principal Secretary Industries, Mr  Devender Singh also addressed the gathering.
Haryana Chief Minister inaugurated New Police Lines in Palwal-
          Later on, the Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal in presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the new Police Lines on NH-2 in Palwal. It has been  constructed over an area of 65 acres at a cost of Rs 55 crore. Haryana Director General Police, Mr  Yashpal Singhal was also present on the occasion.
