Haryana to be kerosene free State

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 17
Haryana will be made a kerosene free State in next one year as gas cylinders would be provided to every household and the families using kerosene for cooking would be given gas chullahs so that they do not have to cook in  smoke of wood or kerosene.
This was announced by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal while addressing a largely attended ‘Mewat Vikas Maharally’ at village Chandraka in district Mewat today.
While assuring development of Mewat at par with other areas of the State, the Chief Minister made a number of announcements for development of district Mewat. These included renovation of Kotla lake at a cost of Rs. 17 crore and on completion of its first phase, about 23000 acres of land would get irrigation facilities besides providing water to the nearby villages. He also announced to connect villages of Ferozepur Jhirka assembly constituency with Ranney Well Project costing Rs. 284 crore to resolve the problem of water in this constituency. He announced that water in Banarasi Distributory would be taken upto the tail end.
Mr Manohar Lal also announced opening of a college in district Mewat, setting up of a driving school with the help of Maruti Suzuki India, construction of a park in village Sakras, upgradation of 50  schools besides opening 19  new primary schools, starting classes from this year onwards in polytechnics at Indri and Malab, opening of a new veterinary hospital, construction of rest house at Badkali Chowk, upgradation of Pingawan police post to police station, setting up of a 33 KV power station in village Bubalheri, construction of a stadium in village Dungeja, a hatchery over an area of  20 acres of land, opening of Krishi gyan Kendra, repair of 378 quarters of employees, construction of concrete road from Tigaon to Luhinga. On the Demand of linking Mewat with Railway line, the Chief Minister assured that efforts were being made in this regard. He also said that a survey was being carried out to four lane   National Highway No. 248 A from Nuh to Rajasthan border.
On the demand raised by the Chairperson of Zila Parishad Anisha Bano, the Chief Minister announced a sum of Rs. 10  crore for construction and repair of 11 roads. In addition, he also announced Rs. 5 crore each for Ferozepur Jhirka, Nagina and Punhana Assembly Constituencies. Referring to the demand to fill up the vacant posts of the teachers in district Mewat, the Chief Minister said that recruitment of 10,000 teachers was underway. He said that a transfer policy has also been prepared by the Education Department which would   soon be implemented in the state. This policy has already been implemented in  Mewat district. At the same time, the Chief Minister said that to overcome the shortage of teachers, those who opt to serve in Mewat and Morni areas would be paid 10 per cent extra salary.
The largely  attended rally  boosted the morale of the Chief Minister who said that  although the BJP did not succeed in winning a single seat in Mewat district, yet the BJP government in the state would take up development works similar to the areas having BJP MLAs. He took the opportunity to highlight the misdeeds of the previous governments and said that during five years of Congress rule, not even a single meeting of Mewat Development Authority (MDA) was held which shows their callous attitude towards development of Mewat. He said that after BJP government took over, two meetings of MDA  have already been held.
He said that ever since the BJP has came to power in Haryana, this is his fifth tourvisit to the district, which shows his concern for the development of Mewat. He said that though the people of Mewat did not vote in favour of BJP during last elections yet when they would understand the MLAs, Ministers and the Chief Minister as well as see equal development in all areas, they may vote for BJP next time. After all, how long the Mewat would not vote in favour of the BJP, he questioned.
Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads)Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Sohna MLA Tejpal Tanwer, Chairman of Haryana Gau Seva Commission Bhaniram Mangla, organizer of Rally Alam alias Mundal, Iqbal Zaildar, BJP District Incharge G.L. Sharma and  District BJP President Surender Partap Arya also addressed the gathering.
