Chandigarh to host two-day National Space Conference

CHANDIGARH, MARCH 29 
 Chandigarh is all set to host mega National Conference on Space for Students. The event is being organized jointly by the International Space Society (ISS) and the Society for Promotion of Science & Technology in India (SPSTI). 
The theme of the Conference is Astronomy. The event will take place in the Tagore Theatre on April 4 and 5. More than 1,500 students from various schools from this region, far and near, college students, teachers and others are likely to attend the conference.
The basic objective of holding the Conference is to expose the young minds to current theories on the structure and evolution of the universe. With this objective, a number of eminent Indian space scientists and astrophysicists will deliver lectures on important aspects of universe and interact with the audience.
 Also included in the program are night sky-watching and a quiz on Astronomy for children to be conducted by Professors J. S. Bagla of IISER, Mohali and Sandeep Sahijpal of Department of Physics, Panjab University.
 All events are open to the public and there is no fee for attending them.
