New scheme to develop water bodies

 Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that the state government has decided to implement a new scheme of Rs 50 crore for development of water bodies in the state. Under this scheme Kotla lake in Mewat would also be developed  and the stored water would be utilized to irrigating fields by the farmers in the area.
          Mr Hooda was addressing a delegation of residents  of Mewat who had called  on him in New Delhi to express their gratitude for approval of Delhi-Gurgaon-Sohna-Nuh-Ferozepur Jhirka-Alwar rail line project in railway budget. The delegation was    led by MLA of Nuh Mr Aftab Ahmed. He said that his father Ch. Ranbir Singh had got Gurgaon canal constructed in Mewat region for irrigation purposes and to expand irrigation facilities in the area, Mewat canal would also be constructed.
          Mr Hooda expressed his gratitude towards UPA Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and Union Railway Minister Mr Pawan Kumar Bansal for approving rail line project for Mewat.Mr Hooda said that MLA Mr Aftab Ahmed has played a significant role in getting approval for this rail line project for Mewat and with this approval 60 years old pending demand of the people of the region has been met with. It may be recalled that  a delegation of people of Mewat under leadership of Mr Aftab Ahmed had met the Chief Minister on February 17 at New Delhi and had urged Mr Hooda for getting approval of rail line project for Mewat. Mr Hooda had then assured them that all possible efforts would be made for getting approval for this project and also announced that the state government would bear half of expenditure of this project.  
          Speaking on the occasion, Mr Aftab Ahmed said that at the time of partition of India in 1947,  Father of  Nation Mahatma Gandhi  alongwith Ch. Ranbir Singh came to Ghasera village of Mewat and urged the Muslims not to migrate from Mewat   and promised them that they would be given  due respect and honour. He said that during the tenure of Mr Hooda, the dream of Mahatma Gandhi has been realized  and all round development of Mewat has taken place. By getting approval of this rail line project, Mr Hooda has given an exclusive gift to Mewat, he added.
          Those present on the occasion included Members of Pradesh Congress Committee Mr Mehtab Ahmed and Mr Maman Khan Engineer, Col. Aryavir, Ejaz Khan, Aman Ahmed, Hikamtullah, Rafiq Ahmed, Ikbal Zaildar, Sahab Khan, Mohamad Isak Advocate, alongwith Chairpersons of Block Congress Nuh, Nagina, Taoru, Punhana and Ferozepur Jhirka.
