CHANDIGARH, MARCH 5
Haryana Government will utilize the land given to set up a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Garhi-Harsaru in district Gurgaon only for industrial purpose. This was stated by Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda while replying to the questions of mediapersons in press lobby of the Vidhan Sabha here today.
It may be recalled that this land was given to Reliance by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation to set up a SEZ and the State Government had sweat equity.
Mr Hooda said that the SEZ could not be set up as per the agreement with the Reliance and now the land would be utilized only for industrial purpose.
When his attention was drawn towards the allegations leveled by Delhi that Haryana has not been releasing water in Munak Canal, Mr Hooda said that Haryana has already been releasing water more than the share of Delhi. He said that he has already discussed the issue with Central Government and Chief Minister of Delhi. The Central Government has asked the Delhi Government to close the outlet installed on this canal and thereafter, further action would be taken.
When asked to comment on delay in construction of Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, Mr Hooda said that the project was being monitored by the Supreme Court and the concessionaire has been fined Rs 18 crore in the form of LED. He said that this project has been completed between Manesar and Palwal.
